Photo of the Day (Sort of)

Ok, so I didn't actually take this picture today but I did edit it a little bit today.
One thing you need to know about me, I don't like to center my subjects and I usually take pictures based on whether or not I would use the picture later for a painting. I like to paint based off of pictures, I don't know why I like doing it this way, maybe it's because I can study a picture longer than I would a live model or something. Any ways, don't be surprised if you see several pictures where the main subject is to one side, near the bottom or top of the frame, I do that on purpose.
For this picture, the eye is my focus and it does end up being centered in the frame but the rest of her head and body are slightly to the left. Every now and then I find that some pictures appear more pleasing to me in Black & White with a fair amount of contrast between the two colors. Again, this is @Youn Gonzalez with the fun makeup and messed up hair. I had to spray hairspray at the roots of her hair to give it some volume but even with that I had to step in every now and then to mess it back up. I could have teased her hair to really make it stand out but I don't think she would have appreciated that very much, ha ha.

Favorite Picture from Halloween 2010

This is probably, by far, my favorite picture from Halloween 2010.
@David Lucio was hosting the party at his apartment. He was dressed up as a video game character (not sure which one). He had a few different colored lights strung up around his ceiling that were giving me some fun lighting.

Photo a Day Project??

I am thinking of starting a little project for myself.
I want to start uploading a "Photo of the Day". This doesn't necessarily mean that I will only post one photo a day, but that I will choose my favorite picture from that day and it will have the famed "Photo of the Day" title! You know I need to figure out how to convey sarcasim through text... hmm.
Anywho, looking forward to my little project and lets see how long I can keep it up! : D

Fun with Blogs time.

Hello there.
This will be my second blog created within 24 hours. I created one through Tumblr and wanted to see how this site worked out and decide which one I like better. : )
My main goal is to post some of my pictures, get feedback and criticism, and meet new people hopefully.
Anywho, here is my first picture for you Blogger. Hope you like it.

This photo was taken at Brownwood lake, Brownwood Texas. My grandparents purchased a lakehouse then gave it to my two aunts to keep and maintain. I love these little birdhouses and I had recently purchased a cheap fisheye camera. This is one of my favorites from that "series".
